Specific production methods

The different ranges of use and applications for fertilizers in the home and garden area as well as in the professional area call for special products and product characteristics. Through the use of specific production methods, agron is capable of meeting these requirements, to offer the user the best possible solution.

Compacting

The compacting technology offers the advantage of being able to produce many different formulations/products in relatively small and therefore flexible units. The minimum production volume for granule sizes smaller than 2 mm is about 25 tons, and for granule sizes larger than 2 mm, about 50 tons. Compacting methods are only used for the granulation of mineral / inorganic raw materials.

Compared to other compacting methods, the unique agron® compacting method ensures particularly low-dust production- and storage-stable granulation results.

Blending

The blending/mixing of fertilizers offers the option of combining different single-nutrient or compound fertilizers in granulated or powder form, to then produce individual and user-friendly fertilizers. This can be achieved already for small production units starting at 5 tons. Moreover, the method is characterised by comparatively low production costs for the manufacturing of fertilizers.

agron® blending methods are particularly gentle on the product, have a high degree of segregation stability, and low-dust qualities.

Granulation

The granulation of organic and organic-mineral fertilizers can be achieved with different methods. These include, amongst others, the fluidised bed method as well as moist granulation in drums or plates. Another well-tried method is granulation by means of pellet presses. Here, the raw materials are initially compacted in pressing channels, and then pressed into pellets. Afterwards, the pellets are crushed. Compared to other methods, this method is characterised by a low energy demand.

The agron® granulating method with pellet presses achieves exceptionally low-dust qualities thanks to the particularly gentle and intensive sieving method. It reaches granulation results in fine structures from 1 – 3 mm and 2 – 4 mm. Moreover, it provides the option of making small production units (starting at 5 tons) for each formulation/product.
